Meeting Room

Approved July 2011

Public Movie Performance Policy

Our policy reflects Article 6 of the Library Bill of Rights, which states, "Libraries which make exhibit spaces available to the public they serve should make such facilities available on a equitable basis, regardless of the beliefs or affiliations of individuals or groups requesting their use."  Therefore, anyone may use the space to show DVD's or VHS's but library sponsored programs have priority use.

Users of the library's movie space are expected to observe the rights of other library users and staff members, to use the Library for its intended purposes, and to leave the space in the condition it was found.  All groups must exercise prudent precautions to avoid damage of library equipment, furnishings, floor coverings, and other library property.  The Library may require a damage deposit from individuals or organizations.  Damage fees may also be assessed following meeting use.

Limited snacks (ie popcorn, candy, cookies, etc.) may be brought in by groups with approval.

The Library is not responsible for any accident, injury, loss or damage to the private property of individuals or organizations using the facility.

Use of our movie space does not imply library endorsement of ideas expressed or of the goals and objectives of the organizations using the facilities.

The Library's building and grounds are smoke-free.  No smoking may be done in the Library.

Space use may be scheduled up to six months in advance.  Each reservation must include the name, address, and phone number of the contact person.  Anyone under the age of 18 must have an adult complete the application, and adult supervision must be provided during use.

Although there is no charge for the use of the space, any donation your organization may like to give to the Lenox Public Library will be gratefully received.
